National Indigenous Peoples Day 2025

June 21, 2025

June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada, a time to honour and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples. Throughout June, we are encouraged to recognize and reflect on the heritage, resilience, and enduring presence of Indigenous communities across the country.

At Cementation, we are committed to acknowledging and respecting the diverse experiences and traditions of Indigenous Peoples. We recognize the profound impacts of colonization, including the lasting legacy of the residential school system, which sought to erase Indigenous identities, languages, and cultures. These truths are vital to our understanding—and to our efforts in building a more inclusive future.

Creating culturally safe and respectful spaces is essential. We believe that reconciliation begins with listening, learning, and taking meaningful action to remove barriers and foster genuine partnerships with Indigenous Peoples and communities.

Let’s celebrate and learn together. We encourage everyone to explore the history behind this day, as well as get involved in events and activities by visiting — National Indigenous Peoples Day.
