2025 – Tugger Safety Improvements
This initiative enhances operator safety by physically separating workers from line pulls and other hazards, improving equipment guarding, and ensuring zero-energy conditions during shutdowns.
2024 – Engineered Overhead Protection Post
This solution removes critical fatal-risk exposure by replacing traditional administrative controls with a robust engineered form of overhead protection.
2023 – Safety Mat Interlock
This device automatically shuts off power to the drill when an employee steps onto the safety mats, placed in areas where workers stand to change drill rods. Special thanks to Vale and the Thompson Project Team for supporting the development and implementation of this innovation.
Personnel Detection: In collaboration with LoopX, we are trialling an AI-powered, camera and LiDAR-based system that proactively detects hazards and protects workers in real time during underground operations.
