Last night, Vern Goglio took the stage at the Western Folklife Center for a talk called “My Career: What You Don’t Learn in School.” True to the title, he traded theory for decades of hard-won lessons from underground.
Vern’s career is proof that mentorship and hands-on experience shape this industry as much as any classroom ever could. He’s a trusted leader who has never stopped showing up for the people around him, and a tireless advocate for mining, on this stage and every day on site.
