Cementation Canada is proud to have supported reclamation efforts at the Keno Hill Mining District alongside our client, Hecla Yukon’s subsidiary ERDC (Elsa Reclamation and Development Corporation) and our partners at the Na-Cho Nyäk Dun Development Corporation.
Since August 2023, our crews have been working at several historic portals, completing portal rehabilitation, installing ground support in underground workings, and preparing bulkheads designed to permanently manage water flow. We temporarily wrapped up work in mid-December and look forward to returning in the spring to complete concrete placement once conditions allow.
A major highlight of this scope of work: zero recordable injuries. This achievement reflects the strong safety culture, professionalism, and teamwork demonstrated by everyone involved.
We also congratulate the entire ERDC team on receiving the 2025 Robert E. Leckie Award for Excellence in Environmental Stewardship, a well-deserved recognition of their leadership in environmental responsibility and remediation.
